About Us

Since 2020, the Brunswick School Department has made Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) one of its highest priorities. This commitment was formalized in the Equity Statement published in the Strategic Plan adopted by the School Board in 2023, which guides the district in meeting the goals that are of the greatest interest to the district community.

We believe our commitment to DEIB should extend beyond the classroom and must be considered in every aspect of our students' experiences in the Brunswick schools, including school-sponsored and co-curriclular activities where barriers are often hidden and overlooked. It is in this spirit that Brunswick Cares was born.

Brunswick Cares is an independent, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to helping more Brunswick students participate in school-sponsored co-curricular activities.  It is a system of financial support that lowers barriers to student participation in those activities.

If participating in a co-curricular activity is a financial hardship, help is available.
